Cylinder Plating and Replating for Honda Engines

U.S. Chrome uses a patented nickel composite, or NiCom, coating on all of our cylinder replating jobs. Our coating has impressive hardness and wear resistance, paired with a three micron particle size for a non-abrasive finish. It can be applied in thicknesses up to ten times greater than that of Chromium, making it ideal for cylinders and other sliding wear applications.

By applying a NiCom coating to the cylinders of your Honda motorcycle you will be increasing its lifespan by creating a more wear resistant, oleophilic surface that will be more durable than OEM or chromium coatings.

Honda Motorcycle Cylinder Service

A brand new Honda engine will last you for many years and tens of thousands of miles, but eventually even the most well maintained cylinders will begin to wear. When they do, send them to U.S. Chrome for a full restoration.

Don’t let streaked cylinders or low compression be the end of a CX500 café racer build or restoration of a classic 70s superbike. Our cylinder service technicians have put countless vintage motorcycles back on the road. By boring out the cylinders and applying our patented NiCom coating we can restore your bike’s compression and power. When we’re done with your Honda engine you’ll be having as much fun on your vintage bike as its original owner did when it was fresh off the lot.

Cylinder Boring for Increasing Performance of Honda Motorcycle Engines

If you’ve been having fun with your brand new CBR100RR or Interceptor on the track just wait until you bring it into U.S. Chrome. Our cylinder boring technicians are experienced at squeezing every drop of power out of an engine by taking the cylinders out to maximum overbore for the most displacement humanly possible.

Our diamond plateau cylinder honing technique will symmetrically size the bore of your cylinders and leave you with a superior lubrication surface. Cylinders that have been bored and finished with our NiCom coating have tighter tolerances, rounder diameters and straighter strokes.
